T.N: Alright, I guess half-a day is enough torture for a cliffhanger as I hate them myself. I have to say though, the MC is revealed to be pretty smart in this chapter. I’m liking him more and more(Aside from not taking all the stats boost skill first).

Chapter 24:　Surprise Attacker

“Wh-what happen!?”

With that sudden attack, both Amyl and Claire were surprised while I was countering it.

“Over there!”

Lelena seems to have perceives where the people who did the surprise attack are at. When Claire looks there ready to shoot her arrows, the 3 good looking people that I had quarreled with before in the guild appears.

“Dammit! How can he detect our hiding!?”

The person cursed while readying his weapon. Oh come on, how are you going to sneak on me who has the Map skill?

“What hiding? I noticed from the very beginning. I’ve been watching you for some time now. You didn’t notice?”

I slowly turned my weapon, saying that while half-smiling.

Now is the time to reveal the tricks. Before we dive into the dungeon after receiving the request, I had asked the Merchant Guild to search for the Ogre’s nest. Since there’s a high chance that the people we’re argued with at the guild will try to interfere, I also paid to keep watch of them.

Since they always looks down on others with their showy equipment, it’s easy to keep track on these self-conscious people. And if we have to resolve to using force, I’ve also made a contract to have a witness. I’m sure that we  are currently being watched.

There’s a reason for the colored ribbon for the ogre’s nest. The blue one in the forest is for the ogre’s nest. The red one is to warn us that these guys are also lurking in the forest. Lelena seems to have noticed this precautions.

The handsome guy was biting his teeth when he heard my explanation. He should be frustrated. When they’re planning to steal the achievements of the Bronze-class, they’re the one dancing in my palm instead.

“In that case if we also kill the witness there won’t be any problems. Do you think that you Bronze class can defeat us?”

He declared that they will kill us while showing a dark smile. How stupid. In case that they were able to defeat us here, there’s no reason for the employed observer from the Merchant Guild to just wait there forever. There’s no way that the current us would be defeated by them though. It’s already checkmate for these guys the moment they attacked us.

“Who are you calling Bronze-class? Don’t you understand anything when you look at our level?”

Do they doubt it I wonder, as the face of the handsome guy that confirmed our levels was warped in astonishment.

“Wh, how!? They’re only around Level 10 a while ago!”
“You’re kidding right!? there’s no way they could raise it up that much in such a short time!”
“Th-that’s right! They must have use something to trick us somehow!”

Geez. The situation won’t improve even if you deny the reality that happens in front of you. However I have no intentions of waiting for these guys to recover from the surprised state. I shoot fireball without chanting by working out the imagination.

“Uwa!”

But as expected of Silver-class adventurers, they managed to avoid it even while being surprised. Once the heat wave from the flame cause the opposite side to scattered while frowning, we begin our attacks.

Claire and Lelena are facing the female wizard. Although the flame magic could be said to be able to kill Claire without letting them approach, as Claire was using her bow at the back, the female wizard can only go on the defense as Lelena attacks with her morning star.

The arrow shot by Claire hit and pierced the female wizard’s shoulder. As she screamed while dropping her cane, Lelena came charging with her whole body, directly hitting her from the side.

“Gubeh!”

And that voice that sounds like a crushed frog was her last sentence before she collapsed. It’s possible that most of her ribs are broken right now. She’s holding her side while writhing in pain. Seeing as she vomits blood, her internal organs might have been seriously damaged.

Amyl is fighting with the other guy. Although at first Amyl can’t reach him because of the difference in reach between a sword and a spear, as he gradually became accustomed to his opponent’s attack pattern, he’s able to ward off the attacks pretty well.

“Triple Thrust!”

That man shouts and activate a skill. It’s a 3 continuous blows piercing at high speed, and although Amyl managed to parry 2 of it with his sword, he missed the third one.

“I did it!”

The moment when the man shouts thinking the spear had gone through Amy’s body, Amyl twists his body while the spear passed his armor making a creaking sound. And then Amyl managed to slip in front of the completely defenseless guy while holding his sword. This is the 『Bamboo Splitter』 that Amyl is proud of.

“Deyaaa!”

A single swing falls down with a shout, and the man throws away his weapon at once trying to protect his head with both of his arms, but the single blow from Amyl cuts off both of his arms, and it still has the power to crush his armor at the same time. The man collapsed without uttering a single thing.

Only the handsome guy left as he was fighting me. We’re on even terms when the combat start, but the difference in skills gradually began to appear. Although we keep on attacking while inflicting wounds on each other, that handsome man is a pure warrior type while I’m a magic warrior type than can use magic.

The effect of 『Hp Regeneration：Level 1』 that I obtained while fighting with the Ogres is bigger than I thought. Although we’re inflicting the same wounds to each other, my wounds heals after a moment. To the handsome guy that has no means of recovery, his odds of winning decreases as time passes.

“Dammit! Are you an Undead!?”
“Sorry to tell you this but I’m human! It’s just that I’m stronger than you!”

The handsome guy keeps on cursing. But is that okay? It’s dangerous if you stops moving. Did you forget that I could use magic without any need for chanting!?

I work out an image the moment he stops moving. I shot a huge flame magic from point-blank range, swallowing the whole body of the handsome guy instantly.

“Gyaaaaaah!”

Although he throws his weapon and keeps on rolling on the ground to put down the fire, unfortunately we’re in the woods. The water source is far away, and I’m not such a good-natured person that would help someone who declared that they will kill us. His movements slows down after rolling for a while, before he stops moving completely.

“It’s over”
“Geez, what’s wrong with these guys? Are you going to kill someone only because of that?”

Everyone gathers while sheathing their weapons. The female wizard is the only one from the enemy party that survived. But her conditions is still dangerous. We tied her hands and mouth after taking away her cane, I healed her to the extent where she can walk.

Without any sound, a man with a face mask suddenly appeared. This fellow  should be the the observer that I asked for from the Merchant Guild. When I once again ask this fellow to testify for what these people’s action, I passed a silver coin asking this fellow to handle the female wizard. He nods and handles the woman.

The woman could only glance at us with a haggard look. A person attacking another person with the intention to kill will be turned into a slave. At worse she might be beheaded. Either way her hell is sure to start from now on.

I decided to gather the remains of the dead bodies of the handsome man and the other guy to burn, it’s their consequences for their bad choice. As they might turn into Undead if we bury them, I’ll at least give this much mercy.

The request is completed although with some trouble. My hand and feet trembles a bit after feeling relieved. Unlike killing monsters, killing humans will leave some mental damage as I thought. Lets return to town and have a slow rest with Claire today.
